Tonight, predictably

Tonight, predictably,

there is yellow light and tea.

Tonight, melancholy,

is on the clock and smiling,

miserable in timing and grace.

Like an acquaintance visiting unannounced.

Reluctant to hug,

but eyeing the wine tucked under his arm,

his overture isn't renounced.

Tonight, predictably,

the movie they're showing

is black & white and sad.

Like the dog I left behind

and wish I never had.

Hi. Can't stop for long. My mouse is having a break - and its batteries recharged.

Anyway it would be uncomfortable with all these dogs and cats around.

Good luck with the new blog. Good to see some new poems.

Nams: One of these days, he's going to pay us back for fondly referring to his as 'neutered cat'. The question is, do we care?

Liam: I'm glad to be back too. Just went back to your blog and realised how much I'd missed. My poems are hanging their head in shame.

Roger: It's good to be back. Tell your mouse it's welcome on a cat-and-dog blog.
